Israel continues to violate ceasefire, intensifies home demolitions in Gaza City and Khan Younis

GAZA, November 2, 2025 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation army carried out extensive demolitions of Palestinian homes in Gaza City and Khan Younis on Sunday, despite the ongoing ceasefire agreement.

According to WAFA correspondent, Israeli forces launched heavy gunfire east of Gaza City while simultaneously demolishing residential buildings in the neighborhoods of Al-Zaytoun and Al-Shujaiya, where thick plumes of smoke were seen rising from targeted areas.

In eastern Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip, Israeli artillery shelling and gunfire also persisted, accompanied by demolitions of several residential structures. Additionally, Israeli warplanes launched three airstrikes on Rafah, in southern Gaza.

Since the start of the Israeli aggression in October 2023, the death toll in the Gaza Strip has risen to 68,858, the majority of whom are women and children, while 170,664 others have been injured.

Since the ceasefire agreement came into effect on October 11 last month, 226 Palestinians have been killed and 594 wounded. Rescue teams have also recovered 499 bodies from the rubble, and 30 bodies have been returned by Israeli authorities, bringing the total number of recovered bodies to 225.
