Israeli Defense Minister bans Red Cross visits to Palestinian detainees

TEL AVIV, October 29, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz decided Wednesday to ban representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) from visiting Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons, claiming it would endanger state security.

It is worth noting that since the beginning of the aggression against the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation has prevented families of detainees from visiting their sons and has cut them off from contact with the outside world. It has also revoked all the rights and privileges of the Palestinian prisoners' movement.

More than 9,100 Palestinian detainees are currently held in Israeli prisons, living in harsh conditions amidst ongoing policies of repression and medical neglect.
