Occupation forces set fire to house in refugee camp amid an ongoing siege on Tulkarm

TULKARM, October 26, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces set fire to a house belonging to the Jawabra family in the Manshiyya neighborhood of Nour Shams refugee camp, east of Tulkarm city, on Sunday evening.

WAFA correspondent reported that flames were seen rising in the airspace of the camp. Access to the area and details of the ongoing incident are difficult due to the tight siege imposed by the occupation forces.

This comes amid the ongoing Israeli aggression and tight siege on Nour Shams refugee camp for the 260th consecutive day, and on Tulkarm city and camp for the 273rd day.

Israeli forces continue to close all entrances to the two camps with earth mounds and concrete blocks, and have installed iron gates at several main entrances, amid the sounds of heavy gunfire inside the camps.

Tulkarm city and its suburbs, particularly the Aktaba and Shuweika neighborhoods, are seeing continuous military reinforcements. Occupation vehicles patrol the city's main streets, obstructing the movement of citizens and vehicles, amid a tense atmosphere prevailing in the city.

The ongoing escalation has led to the forced displacement of more than five thousand families from the Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps, comprising over 25,000 residents.

The ongoing escalation has also led to the complete destruction of more than 600 homes and the partial damage of 2,573 others, transforming the two camps into almost depopulated areas.

The aggression has so far resulted in the killing of 14 citizens, including a child and two women, one of whom is eight months pregnant. It has also resulted in dozens of injuries and arrests, as well as widespread destruction of infrastructure, homes, shops, and vehicles.
