HEBRON, October 25, 2025 (WAFA) – Two elderly Palestinians were injured on Saturday evening in an attack by Israeli colonists near the town of Surif, northwest of Hebron, in the southern occupied West Bank, according to local sources.
WAFA correspondent reported that armed colonists, under the protection of Israeli occupation soldiers, assaulted residents in the Al-Qurainat area, on the outskirts of Surif, injuring Abdullah Ghneimat, 82, and his brother Ibrahim, 72, who sustained bruises and moderate injuries and were transferred to hospital for treatment.
Hazem Ghneimat, the mayor of Surif, told WAFA that the colonists also set fire to a vehicle and smashed the windows of two homes in the neighborhood.
In a related development, anti-settlement activist Osama Makhmara told WAFA that colonists assaulted a peace activist during a raid on a home in the village of Susiya, south of Hebron, causing him bruises. He added that other colonists stormed the nearby village of Al-Tuba, preventing residents from leaving their homes or moving around the area for several hours.
The attacks come amid an ongoing campaign of state-backed colonist violence across the occupied West Bank, often carried out under the protection of Israeli forces and aimed at intimidating residents and forcing them to leave their lands.
