Israeli colonists attack olive pickers in Beit Iksa, northwest of Jerusalem

JERUSALEM, October 24, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists attacked Palestinian farmers on Friday morning while they were harvesting olives in the village of Beit Iksa, northwest of Jerusalem, local witnesses reported.

According to the witnesses, colonists from the nearby Ramot settlement assaulted several farmers with stones and verbal abuse in the Wadi al-Madina area, on the outskirts of the village, attempting to force them off their lands under the protection of Israeli forces.

Despite the attacks, the farmers managed to continue their work. Witnesses noted that such assaults occur annually during the olive harvest, as part of ongoing attempts to seize additional land in the village, which is surrounded by the Israeli segregation wall and settlements.

Beit Iksa has long faced repeated attacks from colonists, especially during the olive harvest season. In many cases, Israeli authorities restrict farmers’ access to their lands, requiring special permits and limiting entry to specific days, as part of policies aimed at displacing residents and consolidating control over agricultural lands near the Ramot settlement and the separation barrier.
