Colonists harass farmers, foreign activists near Ramallah

RAMALLAH, October 24, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists attacked Palestinian farmers and foreign activists on Friday in the town of Kafr Malek, east of Ramallah, preventing them from reaching their lands, local sources reported.

According to the sources, a group of colonists confronted the farmers and activists as they were heading to their lands to harvest olives in the southern areas of the town, forcing them to turn back.

The Palestinian Authority’s Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission said that its teams have documented a total of 158 attacks on olive pickers since the start of the current season. Of these, 17 were carried out by the Israeli army, while colonists were responsible for 141 attacks.

Such incidents are part of a wider campaign of harassment and violence against farmers during the annual olive harvest, which often includes physical assaults, property damage, and restrictions on access to agricultural lands near settlements.
