Israeli forces prevent Palestinian farmers from harvesting olives northeast of Hebron

HEBRON, October 23, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli forces prevented on Thursday Palestinian farmers from harvesting olives in the town of Sa'ir, northeast of Hebron.

According to local sources, Israeli troops stormed the Sa'ir Valley in the town, prevented farmers from harvesting their olives, and forced them to evacuate the area.

Farmer Issa Shalaldeh told WAFA that Israeli forces have been preventing farmers from reaching their lands and harvesting their olives for more than a month. They informed them that their lands are a closed military zone and that they are prohibited from entering.

He added that residents of the area are subjected to ongoing attacks by groups known as the Hilltop Youth, who cut down and set fire to trees and attack property, threatening the lives of residents.

Earlier this month, groups of colonists from the Asfar and Kodufim settlements, built on the town's lands, cut down more than 200 perennial olive trees and more than 100 fruit-bearing almond trees with electric saws in the Umm al-Batm area of Wadi Sa'ir, completely destroying them.

Last September, same groups set on fire dozens of dunams of land planted with grapevines, olives, and almond trees, as part of a series of ongoing attacks aimed at displacing residents from their lands and seizing them for colonial expansion.
