GAZA, October 22, 2025 (WAFA) – Medical sources in the Gaza Strip announced on Wednesday that the death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has risen to 68,234, and 170,373 wounded, since October 7, 2023.
According to medical sources, five Palestinians, including one killed in a direct Israeli attack and four whose bodies were recovered brought to Gaza hospitals over the past 24 hours.
Thousands of victims remain under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense crews face difficulties in reaching them due to the massive destruction.
Since the ceasefire took effect on October 11, over 88 Palestinians have been killed and 315 others wounded, while rescue teams have recovered 436 bodies from under the rubble.
They further affirmed that 30 bodies of Palestinian previously held by Israeli authorities were handed over today through coordination by the Red Cross, bringing the total number of bodies received to 195.
Medical sources emphasized their continued handling of the bodies according to established medical procedures and protocols, in preparation for the completion of examination, documentation, and delivery to the families.
Sources further confirmed that several of the recovered bodies bore signs of abuse, beatings, handcuffing, and blindfolding. They noted that 57 Palestinians have been identified by their families so far, and 54 of the bodies, who were not identified or traced, have been buried in the designated cemetery.
