Since Oct. 7, 20,058 Palestinian students killed by Israel in Gaza and the West Bank

RAMALLAH, October 21, 2025 (WAFA) – The Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced on Tuesday that 20,058 students have been killed and 31,139 injured since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank on October 7, 2023.

The Ministry of Education clarified in a statement on Tuesday that the number of students killed in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the aggression has reached more than 19,910, and those injured has reached 30,097. In the West Bank, 148 students were killed and 1,042 were injured, in addition to 846 arrested.

The Ministry indicated that 1,037 teachers and administrators were killed and 4,740 were injured in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and more than 228 were arrested in the West Bank.

She pointed out that 179 government schools were completely destroyed in the Gaza Strip, in addition to 63 university buildings. 118 government schools and more than 100 UNRWA schools were bombed and vandalized, while the occupation's aggression led to the removal of a total of 30 schools, their students and teachers, from the educational registry. In the West Bank, the occupation destroyed the Amira Elementary School in Yatta, south of Hebron, and the Aqaba Elementary School in Tubas. Eight universities and colleges were subjected to repeated raids and vandalism.
