JERUSALEM, October 21, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces (IOF) closed off the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem on Tuesday afternoon with iron barriers to secure colonists' celebrations of the so-called "Torch Day."
The Jerusalem Governorate explained that this closure restricted residents' movement and prevented them from entering their homes in their vehicles.
This annual recurrence reflects the Israeli policy of restricting the neighborhood's residents and tightening control over it.
Colonists exploit the "Torch Day" to call for expanding their colonization in occupied Jerusalem in general, and in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in particular.
