JENIN, October 19, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces (IOF) attacked an ambulance driver on Sunday as he passed through the Dotan checkpoint, southeast of Barta'a town.
The Barta'a Municipality said that the IOF soldiers stationed at the checkpoint severely beat an ambulance driver while transporting a cancer patient from Barta'a town through the Dotan checkpoint. The driver sustained a fracture in his left hand and an eye injury.
The patient was then transferred to a hospital in the 1948 territories.
The municipality confirmed that the ambulance was well-known to the soldiers at the checkpoint, as it was the only vehicle transporting patients from the town through the checkpoint.
It indicated that the frequency of attacks on citizens by IOF soldiers has increased significantly in recent months, with soldiers deliberately assaulting, insulting, and detaining citizens as they pass through the checkpoint.
It is worth noting that the Dotan checkpoint is the only outlet for Barta'a residents, numbering 8,000, to reach Jenin and the rest of the West Bank.
