GAZA, October 19, 2025 (WAFA) – The head of the Network of Civil Society Organizations in Gaza, Amjad Al-Shawwa, warned today of a growing risk of famine in the Strip amid the continued closure of the Rafah crossing by Israeli authorities.
He stressed that hundreds of thousands of residents, particularly pregnant women and children, are suffering from severe malnutrition.
Al-Shawwa noted that Gaza urgently needs around 300,000 tents to shelter displaced families, while the number of aid trucks entering daily does not exceed 300, far below the estimated 1,000 trucks required to meet the minimum humanitarian and basic living needs of the population.
