TULKARM, October 17, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces attacked a group of journalists and international activists on Friday while they were covering an event supporting farmers near the village of Ramin, east of Tulkarm, according to local sources.
Journalist Diana Khweiled told WAFA that an armed colonist in an all-terrain vehicle approached the site as they arrived, then contacted the Israeli army via phone. Soldiers quickly arrived, detained everyone, checked passports and IDs, and conducted field interrogations.
Khweiled added that a farmer and journalists Enas Abu Jabal – later released – and Hamza Hamdan were all detained. Hamdan was handcuffed and taken away by Israeli forces; he later suffered severe beatings before being left near the town of Sebastia and transferred to Rafidia Hospital in Nablus with moderate injuries.
The said area is subjected daily to repeated attacks by colonists, particularly during the olive harvest season. Yesterday, colonists attacked farmers, forced them off their lands, and stole olive produce and firewood.
