CANBERRA, October 12, 2025 (WAFA) – Tens of thousands of people took part in mass rallies across 27 cities in Australia on Sunday, expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people and calling for sanctions against Israel and an end to the occupation of Palestinian land.
Major demonstrations were held in key cities including Canberra, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, Adelaide, and Cairns, as part of a nationwide wave of support for Palestine.
Protesters carried banners condemning the ongoing Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, demanding accountability for Israel’s actions and an immediate halt to the funding of genocide.
The demonstrations are a reflection of the mounting popular demand in Australia for a change in foreign policy and a more forceful response to Israel's violations of international law.
