HEBRON, October 8, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli forces closed the Ibrahimi Mosque to Palestinian worshipers on Wednesday until Thursday evening, under the pretext of securing Jewish holidays celebrations.
Amjad Karajeh, Director of the Hebron Endowments Department, condemned the closure of the Ibrahimi Mosque under the pretext of securing settlers' celebration of the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, considering it a blatant violation of its sanctity and a provocative assault on the right of Muslims to access their places of worship.
The occupation forces also intensified their military measures and closed all military checkpoints and electronic gates leading to the Ibrahimi Mosque to secure the settlers' celebration of the Jewish holiday of Sukkot in the compound and its courtyards.
ur correspondent confirmed that the occupation forces increased their presence at all entrances to the mosque to secure the settlers' access to the city of Hebron and archaeological sites under the pretext of celebrating Jewish holidays. They also closed some markets in the Old City.
The occupation forces also imposed a curfew for the third consecutive day on the Jaber, Salaymeh, Ghaith, and Wadi al-Hussein neighborhoods adjacent to the Kiryat Arba settlement, built on Palestinian land and property east of Hebron.
They prevented school students from reaching their schools and tightened their military measures in the Tel Rumeida neighborhood, Shuhada Street, and Jabal al-Rahma.
It's worth noting that Jewish holidays are a nightmare for the citizens of Hebron, especially since they coincide with major violations committed by the occupation forces, including imposing a siege, tightening military measures at checkpoints, and obstructing citizens' access to their homes, particularly in the Old City of Hebron and its surroundings.
