Israeli army tighten military measures around Ramallah

RAMALLAH, October 7, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces tightened their military measures around the Ramallah and al-Bireh Governorate on Tuesday.

Security sources told WAFA that the occupation forces closed the military checkpoint they had set up at the entrance to the town of Atara, north of Ramallah, causing a severe traffic jam.

The same sources added that the occupation forces closed the iron gate at the entrance to the village of Deir Ammar, west of Ramallah, forcing citizens to exit their vehicles and walk.

Since October 7, 2023, the number of permanent and temporary checkpoints (gates, military barriers, or earth mounds) dividing the Palestinian territories and imposing restrictions on the movement of people and goods has reached a total of 916 military checkpoints and gates, including more than 243 iron gates erected after October 7, 2023, according to the latest report issued by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission.
