JERUSALEM, October 5, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces carried out a wide-scale raid and detention campaign at dawn Sunday in occupied Jerusalem, targeting several members and activists of the Fatah movement, including secretaries and members of various organizational areas in the occupied capital.
Local sources told WAFA that Israeli forces simultaneously stormed several neighborhoods in the city, raided citizens’ homes, and tampered with their contents before detaining Abdullah Shweiki, Yasmine Abu Ta’ah, Hashem Shaqirat, Hadeel Zayadeh, and Shorouq Zayadeh.
The detentions were accompanied by field interrogations and extensive searches of mobile phones and computers, as well as deliberate vandalism inside the detainees’ homes and the confiscation of some of their personal belongings.
According to the sources, the campaign is part of an ongoing Israeli escalation targeting members of the Fatah movement in Jerusalem. In recent weeks, occupation authorities have continued to summon and detain several activists and employees of official Palestinian institutions under the pretext of “working with the Palestinian Authority” in the city.
Observers described the campaign as part of a systematic policy aimed at undermining the organizational structure of the Fatah movement in occupied Jerusalem and preventing any form of Palestinian national activity in the city.
