Death toll in Gaza reaches 37 in 24 hours - Medical sources confirm

GAZA, October 2, 2025 (WAFA) – Medical sources announced that the death toll from the airstrikes on multiple areas across Gaza since dawn on Thursday has risen to 37.

According to medical sources, hospitals reported receiving four bodies at Al-Shifa Hospital, five at Al-Ahli Arab Baptist Hospital in Gaza City, 12 at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, one at Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat in the central Gaza Strip, and 15 at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip.

Earlier, nine Palestinians were killed, including a father, his four sons, and his grandson, when the occupation forces struck a charitable food pantry in the Al-Mawasi area, northwest of Khan Yunis.

A woman was also killed and others were injured when the occupation forces bombed a house southeast of the Al-Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City.

Multiple civilians, including women and children, suffered suffocation after the occupation forces dropped tear gas and smoke bombs from a drone on a school housing displaced persons west of Gaza City, in an attempt to force them to leave the city, which they are seeking to occupy and displace its citizens.

WAFA correspondents reported that the shells created thick smoke inside the school where dozens of families had taken refuge, causing suffocation, especially among women and children, amid screams and cries for help.

Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation forces have waged a war of genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. This has so far resulted in the killing of 66,225 people, the majority of whom are children and women, and the injury of 168,938 others.
