Colonists establish colonial outpost on Deir Istiya lands northwest of Salfit

SALFIT, September 28, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists established a colonial outpost today, Sunday, on Palestinian-owned lands west of the town of Deir Istiya, northwest of Salfit, according to a local activist.

Activist Nazmi Al-Salman told WAFA that colonists stormed an area west of Deir Istiya at dawn and set up tents on a 44-dunum of land. Several colonists were seen during the day carrying out work and preparations at the site.

Al-Salman noted that the new outpost is part of the ongoing targeting of Deir Istiya by the occupation and colonists. He warned of its danger as it is located in the middle of the road connecting Deir Istiya and Qarawat Bani Hassan, in an area densely planted with olive trees, putting the lives of olive harvesters at risk.

The colonists also maintain a nearby agricultural outpost, and one of them grazes cattle in the area.

The new outpost is situated near the Revava colonial settlement, built illegally on Palestinian lands in towns northwest of Salfit, which has witnessed continuous violations by the Israeli army and colonists, including land leveling and preventing residents from accessing their lands.
