Israeli occupation forces detain 22 across Nablus and surrounding areas

NABLUS, September 26, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces detained 22 Palestinians early Friday during a series of raids across Nablus city, the Askar and Balata refugee camps, and the villages of Zawata and Kafr Qallil.

Local and Palestinian security sources reported that Israeli military vehicles stormed several neighborhoods in Nablus, as well as Askar refugee camp, and the villages of Beita and Kafr Qallil south of the city, and Zawata to the west.

Ten Palestinians were detained in Nablus city, six in the Askar camp, and six in the villages of Beita, Kafr Qalil, and Zawata. During the raids, troops raided multiple homes, conducted searches, and reportedly tampered with residents’ belongings before detaining residents.

As of March 2025, over 9,600 Palestinians were held in Israeli detention facilities, according to prisoner rights groups. This includes more than 3,300 in administrative detention, a practice where individuals are held without charge or trial.

These detentions often occur during overnight raids, which have become a daily reality for many Palestinians.
