NABLUS, September 24, 2025, WAFA - Israeli colonists assaulted the mayor of Beita, Mahmoud Barham, and municipal council member Jamil Dweikat on Wednesday, south of Nablus, according to local sources.
They said that a group of colonists attacked Barham and Dweikat while they were inspecting projects on mount Qamas, located east of the town.
The colonists attacked the two officials after destroying and smashing their municipality-owned vehicle, causing them to sustain bruises. Both were subsequently transferred to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
This attack comes just two weeks after Israeli occupation forces carried out a large-scale demolition operation targeting the central vegetable market in Beita, known as "Al-Hisba.
