Vatican, September 21, 2025 (WAFA) – Pope Leo XIV, the spiritual leader of the Catholic Church and head of the Vatican State, said on Sunday that "there can be no future based on violence, forced displacement, and revenge," referring to the tragic situation in the Gaza Strip.
The Pope, who led the traditional Sunday prayer from the window of his office overlooking St. Peter's Square in the Vatican, addressed the situation in Gaza, which has been subjected to an ongoing Israeli genocide for nearly two years.
Pope Leo XIV expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Church's priests who showed their solidarity with Gaza, noting its devastation.
The Pope called for peace in Gaza, saying: "I repeat with you today: there is no future based on violence, forced displacement, and revenge."
