NEW YORK, August 26, 2025 (WAFA) – The United Nations has reiterated its warning that Israel continues to restrict and obstruct the entry of humanitarian aid convoys into the Gaza Strip, hampering life-saving operations.
This was stated by the Spokesman for the UN Secretary-General, Stéphane Dujarric, at a press conference held tonight in New York.
Dujarric noted that staff from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported that Israel continues to obstruct humanitarian aid convoys.
He added that the Israeli authorities rejected eight of the 15 humanitarian aid missions requiring coordination on Sunday, and blocked the remaining seven.
He confirmed that the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs warned that the ongoing airstrikes and hostilities in the Gaza Strip, including attacks on health facilities, are causing more civilian casualties and damaging or destroying vital infrastructure.
He reported that the number of forcibly displaced people in Gaza has exceeded 800,000 since the ceasefire ended in mid-March.
