RAMALLAH, August 23, 2025 (WAFA) – For the third day in a row, Israeli occupation forces continued their large-scale onslaught on the village of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, carrying out raids and widespread destruction of property, according to a local official.
Deputy head of the village council, Marzouq Abu Naim, told WAFA that since dawn today, Israeli forces have stormed more than 30 homes, carrying out threats and provocations, destroying property, smashing citizens’ vehicles and seizing dozens parked in front of homes.
He added that Israeli bulldozers have continued opening a colonial road that runs through the village, completely destroying thousands of dunums of olive groves.
Two days ago, the occupation forces began bulldozing the eastern plain of Al-Mughayyir, adjacent to the colonial bypass road known as “Alon,” which is mostly planted with olive trees.
Hundreds of residents have been forced to spend the night in neighboring villages due to the brutal assault on the village and the Israeli-imposed ban on entering or leaving.
On Thursday, Israeli forces closed the two main entrances to the village, preventing entry or exit, including ambulances, while forcing shop owners to shut down and restricting the movement of residents inside the village.
Colonists also threatened residents by calling their mobile phones, vowing to kill them and destroy their property.
Last year, extremist Israeli minister Itamar Ben Gvir set up his tent at the eastern entrance to al-Mughayyir, inciting against the village and demanding the displacement of its residents, and the demolition and bulldozing of all houses and lands.
