Palestinian Health Ministry sends new shipment of blood units and hemophilia medication to Gaza

GAZA, August 18, 2025 (WAFA) – The Ministry of Health announced on Monday that a shipment containing medications for hemophilia patients, 3,000 units of plasma, and other blood derivatives is on its way to the Gaza Strip.

In a statement, the Ministry affirmed that this is the eighth shipment as part of the "Our Blood is One" blood donation campaign.

The unit was packed last night from the Central Blood Bank in Ramallah and will be delivered, in cooperation and coordination with the World Health Organization, to treatment centers in the Gaza Strip.

Health Minister Majed Abu Ramadan said, "With this shipment, we have sent more than 24,000 units of blood and blood derivatives to treatment centers in the Gaza Strip. We are proud of this great donation from our people in the northern governorates, and we commend the health and technical staff and volunteers who have made tremendous efforts to collect, store, and transport these units with precision and responsibility. We also thank the World Health Organization, which has effectively contributed to the success of these efforts."

Abu Ramadan renewed his appeal to the international community and humanitarian and health organizations to take immediate action to halt the aggression on the Gaza Strip and to allow the urgent entry of medicines, medical supplies, and food needs.

For his part, Assistant Undersecretary for Allied Health Professions and Blood Banks, Osama Al-Najjar, confirmed that work is underway to implement more campaigns in the coming period, as part of the national and humanitarian duty to support the care, treatment, and assistance Palestinians.
