Israeli strikes kill 11 displaced Palestinians in Rafah and Khan Younis

GAZA, July 29, 2025 (WAFA) – At least 11 Palestinian civilians were killed on Tuesday in two separate Israeli airstrikes targeting areas housing displaced persons in the Rafah and Khan Yunis governorates in the southern Gaza Strip, as part of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Strip since October 7, 2023.

Medical sources at Nasser Medical Complex reported that Israeli forces opened fire on a gathering of citizens near humanitarian aid centers north of Rafah, killing seven people and wounding several others.

In a separate strike, Israeli fighter jets targeted a tent housing displaced persons in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Yunis, resulting in the killing of four Palestinian, including two children, according to medical staff at Nasser Medical Complex.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Health today, the death toll in the Gaza Strip has risen to 60,034, the majority of whom are children and women, since the beginning of the Israeli aggression more than nine months ago. The number of injured has risen to 145,870, amid continued airstrikes, artillery attacks, and indiscriminate shelling of residential areas and shelters.

The health ministry also warned that an unknown number of victims remain trapped under the rubble, with civil defense and ambulance crews unable to reach them due to repeated targeting, severe shortages in fuel, and the lack of essential rescue equipment.

This latest escalation comes at a time when the Gaza Strip is facing an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, with famine and epidemics spreading, and the suffering of hundreds of thousands of displaced people worsening amid international silence and inability to halt the ongoing aggression.
