Massive rallies take place in Argentina in support of Palestine

BUENOS AIRES, July 13, 2025 (WAFA) – A massive demonstration took place in Argentina’s capital, Buenos Aires, with thousands of citizens marching through some of the city’s main streets and landmarks. The rally was organized by the Argentine Solidarity Committee with the Palestinian People, as part of a nationwide campaign that included several Argentine provinces and cities, under the slogan: “Argentina Rejects Genocide in Gaza.”

The march saw a large turnout of Argentine citizens waving Palestinian flags and holding signs condemning Israel’s ongoing aggression. The participants expressed their solidarity with the Palestinian people and vehemently rejected the atrocities being committed in Gaza and other occupied Palestinian territories, including Jerusalem.

Most of the demonstrators wore red, symbolizing the bloodshed of the Palestinian people and rejecting the genocidal actions being carried out against civilians. The sight of the marchers, united in their stance, presented a powerful image of Argentine solidarity with the Palestinian cause.

In parallel with the Buenos Aires march, similar protests were held in various provinces and cities across Argentina, reflecting widespread public consensus against Israeli occupation and its crimes.

In a statement read out across all participating cities and provinces, the Argentine Solidarity Committee with the Palestinian People confirmed that more than 57,000 Palestinians have been martyred since October 2023 due to Israel's relentless and systematic bombardment, which has targeted refugee camps, shelters, schools, hospitals, and even humanitarian aid distribution centers. The statement also highlighted that more than 700 Palestinians had been killed while attempting to obtain food.

The statement further expressed firm opposition to Argentina's potential move to transfer its embassy to Jerusalem, labeling such a step as a blatant violation of international law and resolutions. The committee called on the Argentine government to annul all security and economic agreements signed with the Israeli state, in line with Argentina’s historical commitment to human rights and its rejection of any form of complicity in policies of oppression and ethnic cleansing.
