BETHLEHEM, July 13, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists Sunday set up a new colonial outpost on the lands of citizens in the Minya region, southeast of Bethlehem.
The head of the Minya Village Council, Zayed Kawazba, told our correspondent that a group of colonists installed a number of tents in the southern region of the village.
He added that the establishment of this focus came less than 24 hours after the barbaric attack launched by colonists in the nearby Wadi Sair area, which resulted in the burning of the vehicle of local resident Ihab Shallala, and the destruction of solar energy cells used by the people in lighting and watering livestock.
"What is happening is a dangerous escalation in the series of forced displacement. For weeks, our region has been subjected to repeated attacks by the colonists to protect the army, with the aim of pushing the people to leave their lands, and today they are either legislated to create a settlement focus that confirms the hidden intentions to seize the ground," he said.
Kawazba called on the human rights and humanitarian authorities and international institutions to intervene urgently, to stop this illegal colonial expansion, which constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and the Geneva Conventions, and threatens the Palestinian presence in the entire region.
He emphasized that Minya is a highly targeted rural gatherings by colonists, as several illegal outposts are set up in its vicinity, which is part of a plan to separate the south of the West Bank from its middle through a series of colonial expansions.
The Wall and Settlement Resistance Authority said that in the first half of 2025, colonists established 23 colonies on the lands of citizens, most of which are pastoral foci, in the governorates of Ramallah, Nablus, Hebron, Qalqilya, Tubas and Jerusalem, in a continuation of the policy of imposing facts pursued by the colonists on the ground under the full auspices of the occupation army.
