BETHLEHEM, June 20, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces closed the southern entrance of Al-Jab'ah village, located southwest of Bethlehem, on Friday, effectively isolating the village.
Dhiab Mash'alah, head of the village council, told WAFA correspondent that the southern entrance, which serves as the only access point for neighboring villages and the center of Bethlehem city, was shut with an iron gate. As a result, the village has become completely besieged, with no way to enter or leave.
He added that the eastern entrance of the village had already been closed previously with dirt barriers, along with a secondary road linking Al-Jib'ah to the nearby town of Nahalin to the west. According to Mash'alah, Israeli forces fire live bullets at anyone attempting to approach this route.
The closure has severely restricted movement for residents and disrupted access to essential services, raising concerns about humanitarian conditions in the village.
