GAZA, May 29, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces demanded the immediate evacuation of Al-Awda Hospital in Tal al-Zaatar, northern Gaza, on Thursday afternoon, raising alarm over the safety of more than 190 people currently inside the facility, including medical staff, patients, and the wounded.
WAFA correspondents reported that the Israeli military issued the evacuation order despite the hospital being overwhelmed and operating under dire conditions due to the ongoing Israeli aggression on the besieged Gaza Strip.
This demand comes just days after the hospital and its surroundings were targeted by live fire and shelling, exacerbating fears among medical personnel and civilians seeking shelter there.
Later in the day, WAFA sources confirmed that Israeli forces detonated several explosive-laden robots near the hospital, coinciding with heavy gunfire directed at the hospital's buildings and infrastructure.
Medical organizations and humanitarian groups have repeatedly warned of the catastrophic consequences of targeting healthcare facilities, especially amid ongoing Israeli military attacks that have already devastated much of Gaza’s medical system.
