GAZA, May 29, 2025 (WAFA) – Medical sources reported that 11,000 cancer patients in the Gaza Strip have been forcibly cut off from adequate treatment and healthcare due to the Israeli occupation's continued prevention of the entry of medical supplies and medications.
The sources indicated that intravenous chemotherapy and medical follow-up services for cancer patients have completely ceased in the Strip.
They noted that the evacuation of the European Hospital and the Gaza Cancer Center has exacerbated the catastrophic situation for patients.
Medical sources reported that 5,000 cancer patients have urgent referrals abroad for treatment, either for diagnosis or for chemotherapy and radiation therapy, especially given the lack of early diagnosis equipment. Additionally, 64% of cancer medications are missing.
The sources stressed that cancer patients are now trapped in catastrophic health, social, psychological, and economic conditions.
