Tulkarm: 86 days since Israel's aggression began on the city and refugee camps

TULKARM, April 22, 2025 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression on the city of Tulkarm and its camp for the 86th consecutive day, and on the 73rd day in the Nur Shams camp, amid an ongoing escalation of incursions, raids, arrests, and home seizures.

WAFA correspondent reported that the occupation forces are continuing their extensive incursions into the city of Tulkarm and its suburbs. This morning, their vehicles patrolled the streets, driving against traffic, passing through the eastern neighborhood, the street of the Martyr Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital, and Nablus Street, heading towards the Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps.

She added that a military bulldozer began leveling agricultural land this morning near the Netzanioz Gate, west of the city, coinciding with the deployment of occupation soldiers in the vicinity of the area, preventing any approach.

Additionally, Israeli occupation forces this morning launched a large-scale raid on homes in the Dhinaba suburb, east of Tulkarm, searching and vandalizing their contents. They detained three people.

They also detained Ahmed Hassan Matrouk, a former detainee, from his home near Tulkarm refugee camp.

Late last night, Israeli occupation forces fired heavy live ammunition inside Nour Shams refugee camp, coinciding with a large-scale raid on the camp. Israeli forces were on high alert, while residents continued to evacuate their homes around Jabal al-Nasr and the western area of ​​Nour Shams refugee camp, at gunpoint.

Moreover, two Israeli armored vehicles stormed the city from its southern entrance, patrolling its main streets toward the eastern neighborhood, the Shahid Junction, and Muqata'a Street, heading toward the outskirts of Tulkarm refugee camp. They then proceeded to the Sha'rawiya area north of the governorate, passing through the Shuweika suburb.

Tulkarm city is witnessing a daily escalation in raids and arrests, as part of its ongoing aggression against it, its camps, and its suburbs. This includes the deployment of foot and mobile vehicles in its main neighborhoods, the pursuit of young men, assaulting them with beatings, arresting them, and detaining them for long hours after confiscating their IDs and mobile phones.

Tulkarm camp also witnesses a heavy presence of occupation forces, who continue to bulldoze, vandalize, and destroy demolished streets and citizens' property. They have closed its entrances with earth mounds and barbed wire, while the camp itself has become empty of its residents after forcibly displacing them from their homes and converting them into military barracks.

The occupation continues to seize homes and residential buildings on Nablus Street and the adjacent northern neighborhood, converting them into military barracks after forcibly evacuating their residents. Their vehicles and bulldozers are stationed in the vicinity.

The ongoing Israeli aggression and escalation against the city of Tulkarm and its two camps resulted in the killing of 13 citizens, including a child and two women, one of whom was eight months pregnant. Dozens were also injured and detained.

It also resulted in the forced displacement of more than 4,000 families from the Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps, comprising more than 24,000 citizens, along with hundreds of citizens from the northern neighborhood of the city after their homes were seized and several were converted into military barracks.

The aggression caused widespread destruction to the infrastructure, including homes, shops, and vehicles, which were completely and partially demolished, burned, vandalized, looted, and stolen. 396 homes were completely destroyed and 2,573 partially destroyed in the Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps, while their entrances and alleys were blocked with earth mounds.
