GAZA, April 17, 2025 (WAFA) — Five Palestinians, including a young girl, were killed on Thursday afternoon as Israeli occupation forces intensified airstrikes on the cities of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza and Rafah in the south, bringing the total number of Palestinians killed since dawn to 29.
WAFA correspondent reported that two Palestinian civilians — Motaz Bellah Al-Najjar and Nooh Al-Najjar — were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Deir al-Balah. Their bodies were transported to Nasser Medical Complex.
In a separate attack east of Deir al-Balah, Israeli forces targeted a roadside vegetable stall on Abu Arif Street, killing a young man, Sari Jalal Abu Musabeh, and a young girl, Sewar Ahmad Dalloul. Several others were injured in a separate drone strike that hit a motorcycle in the same area.
Meanwhile, 23-year-old Yahya Sobhi Qishta was killed in an Israeli drone strike in the Khirbet al-Adas neighborhood north of Rafah.
The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in at least 51,065 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 116,505 others injured.
Thousands of victims are feared trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to Israeli attacks.
Israel's genocidal attacks continue unabated despite calls from the UN Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
