Israeli forces forcibly remove families from their homes on outskirts of Nour Shams refugee camp

TULKARM, April 13, 2025 (WAFA) – In the early hours of Sunday, Israeli occupation forces forcibly removed some Palestinian families from their homes on the outskirts of the Nour Shams refugee camp, east of Tulkarm. The is part of the ongoing Israeli military offensive in the area, which has been going on for over two months.

Local sources reported that residents were given a final deadline of 7 a.m. to leave their homes, amid intense gunfire intended to intimidate and terrorize the local population.

Just a day prior, families in Jabal al-Nasr neighborhood, on the outskirts of the camp, were similarly ordered to leave their homes. In some cases, residents were forced to purchase water tanks for Israeli soldiers as a condition to remain in their properties.

The forced displacements extended into the night as Israeli forces continued forcibly removing local Palestinian residents along Nablus Street, near the Tulkarm refugee camp. Residents of the Qaddoumi Building were evicted, while forces seized homes and residential buildings in both Nablus Street and the city's northern district, converting many of them into military outposts.

The latest escalation in Tulkarm and its two refugee camps—Tulkarm and Nour Shams—has so far resulted in the deaths of 13 Palestinians, including a child and two women, one of whom was eight months pregnant. Dozens more have been injured or arrested.

The assault has triggered a large-scale displacement, with over 4,000 families from the two camps and additional dozens from Tulkarm's northern neighborhood forced to flee their homes.
