Israeli forces detain 35 Palestinians in West Bank raids

RAMALLAH, April 8, 2025 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation forces detained at least 35 Palestinians, including former detainees, in the occupied West Bank during the last 24 hours.

The Detainees and Ex-Detainees Commission and the Palestine Prisoners Society (PPS) said that the occupation forces are continuing their detention and field investigation campaigns in the West Bank at an escalating pace.

Among the detainees are hostages held to pressure a family member to surrender themselves, in addition to former prisoners.

The detentions were concentrated in the Tubas Governorate, with the remainder took place among the governorates of Bethlehem, Hebron, Ramallah, and Nablus.

In recent weeks, hundreds of Palestinian workers have been detained and harassed by Israeli police on the pretext that they did not have permits.

While the occupation forces continue to carry out field investigation operations, the pace of which has recently escalated, accompanied by widespread abuse, attacks and threats, in addition to acts of vandalism and destruction in citizens' homes.

It is worth noting that these detention campaigns and field investigation operations constitute the most prominent systematic policies used by the occupation forces and they are also among the most prominent tools of the policy of collective punishment, which also constitutes a central tool for the occupation in targeting citizens.
