President Abbas reiterated the need for the international community to pressure the occupying government to halt its war of extermination against Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, achieve a sustainable ceasefire, open the crossings to allow the urgent entry of humanitarian aid, and ensure the State of Palestine assumes its full responsibilities in the Gaza Strip, in preparation for the implementation of the reconstruction plan with the support of its people, with the support of friendly countries and international partners, and achieve a full Israeli withdrawal from the Strip.
The President also called for compelling the Israeli occupation to halt its military attacks on Palestinian cities, villages, and camps in the West Bank, particularly its invasion of the northern West Bank governorates, the destruction of infrastructure, the demolition of homes and facilities, and the forced displacement of residents of the northern West Bank camps. President Abbas also called for an end to the continued illegal settlement expansion and colonist attacks, as well as the continued withholding and deduction of Palestinian tax funds in violation of international law.
President Abbas praised the significant support provided by the European Union to the Palestinian people to build the institutions of the Palestinian state and support the programs of the Palestinian government. He emphasized the importance of pursuing a political process based on the internationally supported principle of the two-state solution, through support for the State of Palestine's full membership in the United Nations and the increasing European recognition of the State of Palestine on the 1967 borders.
