Prime Minister Mustafa instructs Palestinian ambassadors in Latin America and the Caribbean to ramp up efforts to stop Israel's aggression and genocide

RAMALLAH, March 19, 2025 (WAFA) - Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Mohammad Mustafa has instructed Palestinian ambassadors accredited to Latin American and Caribbean nations to intensify their engagement with governments, parliaments, and civil society organizations in the region. 

The objective is to halt the Israeli occupation's aggression and genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza, as well as its violation of the ceasefire while rallying further international support for Palestinian inalienable rights.

During a Zoom meeting held on Tuesday evening, attended by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Varsen Aghabekian Shaheen, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Omar Awadallah, and Director of the Americas and Caribbean Department Suad Subuh, Mustafa reviewed the latest political developments and the Palestinian Government’s international efforts. 

The Prime Minister further underscored the critical role of diplomatic efforts in strengthening support and solidarity for the Palestinian cause across Latin America.

Mustafa emphasized the urgent need to expose Israel’s war crimes and work with international partners to halt the aggression and ensure the protection of the Palestinian people in Gaza  based on international law. 

He highlighted that Israel's resumption of genocide and violation of the ceasefire have resulted in the killing of over 400 Palestinians, with dozens missing and hundreds more injured.

The Prime Minister also outlined the Government's efforts to address the dire humanitarian situation, particularly in Gaza, and the steps taken to ensure the provision of aid and relief to the Palestinian people. 

He stressed the vital role of Palestinian ambassadors in amplifying the suffering of the Palestinian people and mobilizing international pressure to prevent Israel, the occupying Power, from carrying out its plans aimed at the forced displacement of our people.

Additionally, Mustafa called for diplomatic mobilization ahead of the International Peace Conference, set to be co-hosted by France and Saudi Arabia in June, stressing the importance of ensuring concrete outcomes that advance the Palestinian cause. 

He also stressed the need to secure international support for Gaza’s reconstruction plan, adopted by the Arab Summit, to ensure its effective implementation in a way that addresses thr urgent humanitarian needs of our people and strengthens their steadfastness.

Following the Prime Minister’s address, Minister of State Dr. Varsen Aghabekian Shaheen chaired the session, during which participants discussed ways to enhance Palestinian diplomatic strategies and coordinate joint efforts to confront the current challenges. 

Ambassadors provided updates on the latest positions of their host countries, particularly concerning Israel’s genocidal war, forced displacement, and annexation efforts.

In concluding the meeting, Shaheen reaffirmed the necessity of intensified diplomatic efforts to effectively achieve Palestinian national goals. She emphasized that the current phase demands a unified and strategic diplomatic approach to counter the escalating challenges facing the Palestinian cause.
