RAFAH, March 8, 2025 (WAFA) – Two Palestinian civilians were killed and several others injured today in an Israeli drone strike targeting a group of people east of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, in yet another breach of the ceasefire agreement.

According to local sources, the two casualties were identified as Mahmoud Al-Hassi and Mahdi Jargoun. They were targeted in the Abu Halawa area of Rafah and were subsequently transferred to the Gaza European Hospital in Khan Younis.

Since Friday evening, Rafah has been subjected to intense gunfire from Israeli tanks and drones. Shelling has particularly impacted residential areas, including the neighborhoods of Al-Jeneina, Al-Shawka, and Tel Al-Sultan.

Although a ceasefire agreement came into effect on January 19 after more than 15 months of brutal Israeli genocide, Israel continues to violate the agreement by targeting civilians in the region almost every day.

According to local health authorities, the death toll among Palestinians since the start of Israel's war on the region in October 2023 has risen to 48,446, with an additional 111,852 people injured.
