Foreign Ministry calls for real international intervention to enable Muslim worshipers access to Al-Aqsa Mosque

RAMALLAH, March 7, 2025 (WAFA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates confirmed that the occupation forces have no authority or right to restrict the entry of Palestinian Muslim worshipers to pray in the Al-Aqsa Mosque under any pretext or justification.

The Ministry considered in a statement that determining the age of worshipers is a flagrant violation of the obligations of the occupying power and a violation of international law and the principle of the right to freedom of movement and access to places of worship.

It further considered that the restrictions accompanying determining the age of men and women add further restrictions on the number of worshipers on Fridays, and invalidate the occupation's arguments and justifications for determining the age, in addition to the fact that Jerusalem is an occupied Palestinian land according to international legitimacy resolutions and is not subject to Israeli sovereignty.

The Ministry condemned the Israeli's storming of eight mosques in the city of Nablus, and tampering with their contents and vandalizing parts of them, as well as setting fire to large parts of Al-Nasr Mosque in the old city of the city.

The Ministry called for real international intervention to protect our people, their land, their property and their sanctities, and to enable citizens to perform prayers and enter Jerusalem and respect this fundamental human right.
