Cabinet commends Arab Summit outcomes and Arab support

RAMALLAH, March 5, 2025 (WAFA) - The Council of Ministers lauded, Wednesday, the Arab Summit’s endorsement of the Gaza Reconstruction Plan and the unified Arab stance in support of Palestinian inalienable rights.

It welcomed the rejection of all displacement schemes, the reaffirmation of the Palestinian sole legitimate representation, as well as the political and geographical unity of the 1967-occupied Palestinian Territory.

Additionally, the Council expressed deep appreciation for Arab support for the Government of Palestine and its institutions, including the decision to establish a dedicated committee to oversee Gaza’s affairs under the government’s leadership. It also commended efforts to support UNRWA’s operations and establish an international fund to provide care for orphaned children, among other key resolutions.

In his opening remarks at the weekly Cabinet session, Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa outlined forthcoming Arab and Islamic efforts to mobilize greater international support for Palestinian statehood, ending the occupation, and advancing Gaza’s reconstruction plan.

He also highlighted ongoing preparations for an international donor conference and the establishment of a trust fund under international supervision to ensure financial transparency and efficiency in the recovery and reconstruction process.

Furthermore, the Cabinet called on the international community to exert pressure on Israel, the occupying Power, to reopen Gaza’s border crossings and allow the resumption of humanitarian aid shipments, which have been blocked for four consecutive days. It condemned the politicization of humanitarian aid, warning of using it as a tool of coercion that further deepens and exacerbates the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
