Israeli occupation forces continue wide-scale military assault on Tulkarm for 33rd day

TULKARM, February 28, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli forces continue their wide-scale military assault on Tulkarm city and its refugee camp for the 33rd consecutive day and on Nour Shams camp to the east for the 20th day, amid widespread displacement of residents, home raids, and arson attacks targeting the two camps.

WAFA correspondent reported that the Israeli military has been maintaining a full siege on both camps, preventing entry and exit while carrying out house raids and widespread destruction of property. The ongoing assault has caused severe damage to infrastructure, including electricity, water, sewage, and communication networks, leaving residents without essential services.

During the ongoing offensive, military bulldozers have demolished roads, residential areas, and commercial properties, with 26 buildings completely destroyed in Tulkarm refugee camp and significant damage inflicted on surrounding structures. Israeli authorities have also issued demolition orders for 11 homes in Nour Shams camp under the pretext of road construction.

The prolonged military offensive has forced the displacement of nearly 12,000 residents from Tulkarm refugee camp and over 5,000 from Nour Shams. Many have been forcibly evicted under threat of gunfire. So far, 13 Palestinians have been killed, including a child and two women—one of whom was eight months pregnant.

Amid the strict siege, residents who remain in their homes face worsening conditions, struggling to access food, water, medicine, and baby formula. Calls for humanitarian aid continue, but Israeli forces are blocking relief teams from delivering essential supplies or repairing damaged infrastructure.
