Over 365 Palestinians detained in northern governorates since the beginning of ongoing aggression, says PPS

RAMALLAH, February 24, 2025 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Prisoners' Society (PPS) said that the Israeli occupation authorities continue to escalate detention operations and field investigations, specifically in the Jenin governorate and its camp, and Tulkarm and its camps, since the beginning of the current aggression. 

PPS affirmed, in a statement, that within the framework of the occupation's announcement of expanding its military aggression in the northern governorates, the number of detention operations in the Jenin and Tulkarm governorates reached about 365.

According to the PPS, this data includes those who were detained and the occupation kept them in detention, and those who were released later, and included children, women, young men, the wounded, and the elderly.

It noted  that the number of detainees and those who were detained in Jenin and its camp over 35 days of aggression reached no less than 200 cases, while in Tulkarm governorate on the 29th day, the number of detentions reached at least 165, in addition to dozens who were subjected to field investigation.

PPS continued that the ongoing and escalating detentions are accompanied by field executions, direct shooting, or threats, in addition to severe beatings, and field investigations.

 It also noted that the occupation forces during the bloody and ongoing offensive in the in the northern governorates turned the homes into military points, deployed snipers on the rooftops of several buildings and houses.
