RAMALLAH, February 21, 2025 (WAFA) – The Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ministry Friday condemned the storming by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and ‘Defense’ Minister Israel Katz into the northern occupied West Bank refugee camp of Tulkarm.
The Ministry stated that Netanyahu and Katz stormed the refugee camp at a time when the occupation forces continued to forcibly displace over 40,000 Palestinians from the refugee camps in the northern West Bank under flimsy pretexts.
It slammed the storming of the refugee camp as a manifestation of the persistence of Israel, the occupying power, not only with its aggression against the Palestinian people, but also with extrajudicial killings, home demolitions, and forced displacement of Palestinians.
It added that Israel’s policy of employing military solutions to the ‘conflict’ exacerbates tensions and could lead to another conflagration in the region while reiterating that there were no alternatives to political solutions that are based on the United Nations resolutions, international law, and the Arab Peace Initiative.
Accompanied by soldiers, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu broke into a house in the Tulkarem refugee camp in the northern West Bank.
Israeli media shared a photo of Netanyahu inside the house alongside Israeli military officers. The image also shows Israeli soldiers putting an Israeli flag on one of the walls of the house.
His visit came just hours after Israeli ‘Defense’ Minister Israel Katz broke into the same house during his tour of the area.
