Mustafa discusses EU support for humanitarian relief and reform with European Commissioner for the Mediterranean

MUNICH, February 15, 2025 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa met today with the European Commissioner for the Mediterranean, Dubravka Šuica, on the sidelines of the 61st Munich Security Conference. The meeting was attended by Palestine’s Ambassador to Germany, Laith Arafa.

Mustafa emphasized the importance of European Union support for implementing the Palestinian Government's plan for humanitarian relief, early recovery, and emergency response in Gaza in the short term through the provision of temporary shelter and the restoration of essential services.

He also stressed the need for supporting the reconstruction full-scale plan in the medium and long term. Additionally, he discussed the Government's efforts in institutional development and reform.

The Prime Minister also briefed Commissioner Šuica on the deteriorating situation in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, amid escalating attacks by the Israeli occupation army and settlers, particularly the continued military incursions into cities, towns, villages, and refugee camps in the northern West Bank.

He highlighted the destruction of infrastructure, home and structure demolitions, killings, detentions, and forced displacement carried out by the Israeli occupation forces.

Mustafa expressed appreciation for the European Union’s steadfast support for Palestinian rights and the longstanding strategic partnership and cooperation between Palestine and the EU.
