TULKARM, February 6, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces informed the family of detained Palestinian Mohammad Jawdat Shahrour today of their intention to seize and demolish his apartment in the eastern neighborhood of Tulkarm city.
Local sources told WAFA that Israeli forces placed the punitive demolition order at the site of the residence, located on the ground floor of a four-story building.
Mohammad Shahrour, 28 years old, was detained on April 9, 2024, from his home, and has been in prison since then.
Israel’s policy of punitive home demolitions is a blatant violation of international law and human rights, as it targets innocent Palestinian families as a form of collective punishment.
This practice, which has been in place for decades, involves demolishing the homes of Palestinians accused of being involved in attacks against Israeli forces or colonists, often without due process or fair trials.
Despite widespread condemnation from international human rights organizations, including the United Nations, which has called the policy “inhumane,” Israel continues to use home demolitions as a tool of repression.
