Injuries reported as Israeli airstrikes hit Gaza ahead of ceasefire

GAZA, January 19, 2025 (WAFA) – Several civilians were injured this morning in Israeli airstrikes on various areas of the Gaza Strip, just hours before the ceasefire agreement is set to take effect.

Local sources reported that multiple people were injured when Israeli occupation forces targeted a group of civilians northwest of Rafah, located in the southern Gaza Strip.

Additionally, four civilians sustained injuries as Israeli strikes hit tents sheltering displaced families in the Al-Mawasi area, west of Rafah.

In central Gaza, the Israeli occupation army destroyed several buildings in tandem with heavy artillery shelling north of the Nuseirat refugee camp.

Meanwhile, Israeli military vehicles fired heavy machine guns at the al-Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City.

In northern Gaza, several injuries were reported after an explosion in a booby-trapped house detonated by Israeli forces before their withdrawal from the area.

Meantime, WAFA correspondent confirmed that ten Palestinians were admitted to Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City due to injuries caused by unexploded ordnance left behind by Israeli forces in the vicinity of the Civil Administration area east of Jabalia refugee camp.

The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in at least 46,899 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 110,725 others injured.

Thousands of victims are feared trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to Israeli attacks.
