Israeli occupation forces seize 7.5 dunums of land in Husan village

BETHLEHEM, January 13, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces seized 7.5 dunums of land today in the village of Husan, west of Bethlehem, according to local sources.

Jamal Sabateen, head of the Husan Village Council, told WAFA that the Israeli forces distributed maps announcing the confiscation of 7.5 dunums of land at the village's western entrance, adjacent to the Beitar Illit colonial settlement. The land belongs to citizens Ayed Odeh Shusha and Ahmad Mahmoud Shahin.

Sabateen emphasized that all possible efforts would be made to prevent the confiscation of the land.

According to the 2024 annual report by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Israeli authorities seized 46,597 dunums of land last year through various military orders. 

These included 35 orders targeting 1,073 dunums to establish 12 buffer zones around settlements, 5 "expropriation" orders affecting 803 dunums, 8 declarations of "state land" encompassing 24,597 dunums, and 6 orders altering the boundaries of natural reserves to seize approximately 20,000 dunums.
