Prime Minister Mustafa discusses developments with Jordanian counterpart in Amman

 AMMAN, January 13, 2025 (WAFA) – Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Mustafa met today with Jordanian Prime Minister Jafar Hassan at the Prime Minister's Office in the Jordanian capital, Amman. 

The two leaders discussed developments in the Palestinian territories, efforts to halt aggression on Gaza, and ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two brotherly nations.

Prime Minister Mustafa expressed deep appreciation for Jordan’s steadfast support under the leadership of King Abdullah II, emphasizing the King’s pivotal role as a leading advocate for the Palestinian cause. 

He highlighted Jordan’s efforts in stopping the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, providing aid, and facilitating international relief efforts for the people of Gaza.

During the meeting, Mustafa provided an update on the situation in Palestine, focusing on the ongoing aggression in Gaza and the assaults by Israeli forces and settlers in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

Both prime ministers reaffirmed the strong historical ties between their nations and underscored the importance of continued coordination and consultation to address the challenges facing the Palestinian cause.

Jordanian Prime Minister Jafar Hassan reiterated King Abdullah II’s directives to support Palestinians politically, economically, and on all levels. He pointed to Jordan’s ongoing efforts to halt the war on Gaza and ensure the sustained delivery of humanitarian aid. 

Hassan stressed the urgent need to end the humanitarian catastrophe faced by Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

He affirmed Jordan’s unwavering support for Palestinians in the West Bank and their pursuit of full legitimate rights. He strongly condemned Israeli assaults against Palestinians, including violations of their rights and settlement policies in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

The Jordanian Prime Minister also highlighted Jordan’s efforts in safeguarding Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, in line with the Hashemite Custodianship, which King Abdullah II holds with great responsibility.

Hassan emphasized Jordan’s intensified diplomatic efforts with international partners to support the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), ensuring it continues its vital humanitarian services as mandated by the UN.
