Civilians killed following Israeli shelling east of Gaza

GAZA, January 5, 2025 (WAFA) – Eight Palestinians were killed by Israeli occupation fire and shelling of Al-Shaghaf and Al-Tuffah neighborhoods east of Gaza City.

WAFA correspondent reported that five people were killed and a number of others were injured by Israeli drone fire on Al-Shaghaf neighborhood east of Gaza City.

Three other people were also killed and others were injured in shelling that targeted a group of citizens in Al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City, where they were transferred to the Baptist Hospital.

The number of people killed since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7th, 2023, has surged to 45,885, the majority of whom are children and women. Some 109,196 others have been wounded.

Thousands of victims are still trapped under the rubble or scattered on the roads, as ambulance and civil defense teams are facing difficulties in reaching them due to the continued Israeli attacks, the massive amount of debris and the shortage of fuel and heavy equipment.
