NEW YORK, December 24, 2024 (WAFA) - The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said that the Israeli occupation authorities kill a child every hour in the Gaza Strip.
The agency added in a statement issued on Tuesday: "There is no place for children. Since the beginning of the war, 14,500 children have been reported killed in Gaza, according to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF)."
It continued: "A child is killed every hour. These are not just numbers, they are lives cut short."
UNRWA stressed that there is no justification for killing children in the Gaza Strip, and that all children who survived "have been physically and psychologically scarred."
It pointed out that children are deprived of education, as "boys and girls in Gaza spend their time searching through the rubble."
It warned, saying: "Time is running out for these children. They are losing their lives, their future, and most of their hopes."
Last July, UNRWA said that "the children of the Gaza Strip face tragedies and trauma every day."
